June 2022 Boston and Jeff's Birthday

Driving back through Massachusetts we made a few stops with Joel and Virginia.

Once we got back to Boston we had a couple of days to explore. We had never been to Boston before. We went to Fenway Park and saw it from the outside.

The next day started out rainy so we decided to do a tour of the Masonic Grand Lodge.
They were definitely more interested in talking to Jeff and Joel since only men can join but it was still interesting.

We enjoyed walking the freedom trail and seeing all of the historic buildings and sights. A lot of places were closed by the time we got to them so I wouldn't mind going back to explore more!

We ended at the Bunker Hill memorial and monument.

While we were there we drove to Salem and did an evening tour that talked about the witchcraft trials and some of the history. Again a lot of places were closed so I would like to go back again some day.

Before Virginia and Joel headed out we went with them to see The USS Constitution which is the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat and America's Ship of State.  It's nick name is "old ironsides". We were able to tour it, the museum and to enjoy some of the unique art that was on the harbor around it.

The next day Jeff and I were on our own so we took a tour of an old chapel and toured some of the historic graveyards in the area.

Once we were back home we were able to celebrate Jeff's birthday at the Mission Inn.
