September 2019 - Trip to San Diego

Since Jacob was home for his surgery longer than anticipated we decided to made the best of the time we had him here and planned some family fun time together.

We were able to visit some family and spend some time in San Diego.

The kids wanted a hand in planning the trip so they came up with a couple of great ideas that ended up being fun.

The first idea was a hike that they found through a slot canyon that was near the water.  It started on Annies Canyon trail.

We heard reviews that there were some difficult passages in the slot canyon so Jeff and I went to the top using a different route and got to watch the kids as they came through the end of the hike.

After everyone made it to the top...

Then we went back down in the canyon to take more pictures...and Jacob and Ashley filmed a Tic Tok video dancing in the canyon.

That night we met up with Cheri and her family for dinner. It was fun to see how much the twins had grown in the few months since we had seen them.

Some proud and busy parents, and some cute kids!

The next day we met up with the Olesons for some kayaking and paddle boarding fun.  We rented the kayaks in the bay and really enjoyed enjoying the day paddling and watching nature and spending time together.

Everyone kind of switched off and on and took turns on the paddle boards and kayaks.

Ashley found 1/2 of a lobster...yum.

We had a great time as a family and it was a perfect way to end Jacob's trip home.
